Smíšený les: Průzkum expands the possibilities of this popular card game with a fully-fledged solo mode, asymmetrical caves and new rare species, which bring further strategic decisions and greater variability to each game.

Smíšený les: Průzkum is designed for anyone who wants to expand their favourite game with new possibilities without changing its basic rules. You can play with 1–5 players, so for the first time you have the chance to venture into the forest entirely on your own. The game is suitable for ages 10 and over, and you should allow around 60 minutes per game. If you’re already familiar with the base game or previous expansions, you’ll pick up the new features very quickly. The solo mode offers a challenge to players who want to test their skills without opponents, whilst the new caves and rare cards add variety to games with any number of players. What’s more, you can combine this expansion with the base game and previous expansions, depending on what kind of forest you want to create.

Smíšený es: Průzkum features three separate modules that you can use together or according to your own preferences. The biggest new feature is the official solo variant, in which you face off against the AI character Anna. Using her own deck, she influences the selection of cards in the clearing whilst presenting you with twelve different challenges across several difficulty levels.

This gives you a reason to return to the game time and again and gradually complete increasingly challenging objectives.

Another module consists of special asymmetrical caves, which replace the basic caves from the base game. Each offers a different ability or scoring method – some reward card collection, others favour specific animal species or add new gameplay options. The third part of the expansion consists of fifteen new and rare cards, which expand the range of species from Europe and other parts of the world. Among them you’ll find, for example, a palm tree as a new tree species, a red panda, a cardinal or a wapiti. These cards can be shuffled into the Smíšený les alongside other expansions, giving you even more varied combinations and new strategic possibilities.

Smíšený les: Průzkum was released in 2025 as the third expansion for the successful card game Smíšený les, and its original publisher is Lookout Games. The game was designed by the German game designer Kosch, whilst the solo mode was developed by the German designer Anna Triebert. The illustrations were created by the Spanish illustrator Toni Llobet, the Spanish illustrator Judit Piella and the German illustrator Britta Barteld, who continue the realistic depiction of nature familiar from the base game. Mixed Forest itself has enjoyed great international popularity since its release and regularly ranks amongst the highest-rated modern card games focused on building natural ecosystems.
